I sewed a pair of jeans for a friend who didn’t want to wear them on the hips – as is common – but higher on the waist. In his opinion, that’s healthier – and he’s right: there are few men’s pants cut that way. The project was elaborate, but it was worth it – the pants became a true slow-fashion unique piece.

A detail that you don’t even see from the outside makes them special to me: For the inner pockets, I took out my old fabric paints and painted a retro pattern. Inside, there’s also a little surprise – because who says clothing labels (washing instructions and the like) always have to be boring?

The best part: In the end, the pants were unisex – I could also wear them and pull them up over my chest in the “Obelix style”.
