The heart leads

The heart is the driving force behind this work – it helps to recognize the meaning in everything. When joy is shared and something meaningful grows from it, more than just a piece of clothing is created.

Slow - because everything else
is already fast enough

In the fast fashion industry, many things clash with my values. The film The True Cost really opened my eyes back then. And once your eyes are open, it’s hard to ignore the absurdity: overproduction, monocultures, inhumane working conditions.

In just a few weeks, collections are produced, worn, and discarded – often by people working for starvation wages under dangerous conditions. Clothing has become a disposable product, even though so much work, time, resources, and dignity go into each piece.

For me, slow fashion means: designing more consciously, consuming less, producing more fairly. Appreciation instead of waste. Responsibility instead of denial.

A piece of clothing should once again be what it used to be: something personal, with history, with meaning.

Upcycling and
repurposing treasures

If possible, I use old bed sheets, fabrics, aprons, fabric scraps, or deadstock fabrics to sew new garments. Often, seemingly discarded textiles hold beautiful patterns, colors, and stories just waiting to be brought back to life.

Each of these materials brings its own character – making the finished piece even more special.

If upcycling is not possible, I use organic and GOTS-certified fabrics. These guarantee environmentally and socially responsible production – from cultivation to dyeing.

This is how clothing with soul, substance, and the smallest possible footprint is created.

Timeless Unique Pieces

Trends come from advertising – and advertising comes from corporations that make money by constantly making us believe we need something new.

At Kleiderklammer, there are no trends. The garments are timeless basics or custom-made dresses created for a special occasion or person. Because if you don’t follow any trend, you can never go out of style.

For me, timeless fashion is a form of freedom. It allows you to find your own style – regardless of seasons, collections, or color palettes that are currently “in”.

It provides space for identity, instead of forcing everyone into the same mold. And it makes clothing what it can be again: an expression of one’s own personality – not the latest advertising campaign.
