Here I’m not showing you a disposable garment, but two pieces I’ll cherish just as much. They were sewn with great care by Enock and his brother Bizzy. The two run a small tailor shop in Busua, Ghana. Their sewing machines hum while a few meters away, waves crash onto the beach – a dream workplace, one might say.
“Only work is missing”, Enock tells me. He has two children he wants to send to school, and a wife. They all need to eat and pay the rent for their apartment. No work, no money.
Therefore, I was very happy to commission a custom-made pair of trousers and a matching top. I even got to watch them work while they were tailoring. They accommodated all my wishes, and the pieces were ready in just under two days! The two brothers would supply the whole world if they received orders. So, if you like colors and patterns and want to support these two men, write to me – I will connect you with them!
