Born under a stubborn zodiac sign. Once an idea takes root, it wants to grow – until it takes shape, becomes visible, tangible, and wearable. The mind thinks in images, in rhymes, in colors. And ideally, for as long as it takes until imagination becomes reality.
My name is Johanna, I grew up in the Alps in South Tyrol, and for as long as I can remember, I’ve been creating and designing. Even today, I want to make things myself, to make them exactly as I envision them. Stubbornness accompanies me in every project, often transforming into helpful patience, and sometimes into less helpful obsession.
I see myself as a practical person. A work of art alone is not enough for me – I want my creations to also have a purpose, to be useful for something. Garments give me exactly that – artistic freedom and the opportunity to create something useful and unique.

According to Duden, to study means to pursue something diligently. And I have certainly done that. I don’t even want to know how many hours of my life have already been spent at the sewing machine.
I didn’t study at university – but I still learned a lot. A bit of art and design in school, a good measure of common sense from my parents, and creative problem-solving through collaboration with different people and exciting projects.
I learned the basics of sewing, knitting, and crocheting from my mom. And later from books, videos, tutorials, and most importantly: from mistakes. Many mistakes. I learned pattern drafting from dear Liana with the Telestia online course. And much was learned simply by doing – through my own projects, curiosity, and the goal of making something exactly as I envision it.
And you know what? I’m still learning.
But I’d love tea, water, or my mom’s elderflower juice.
Repairs are not part of my work. I find it incredibly important not to throw things away immediately. But that’s precisely why I see mending as something everyone can do themselves: a beautiful task, a slow task, a task with value.
